Are you ready for another piece of big news? Construction is already underway for our new hotel in Costa Mujeres: the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres! Located right next to our recently opened Hotel Riu Dunamar, this new hotel in the Riu Palace range is being readied to offer our customers, at the end of this year, very complete facilities in a perfect destination for fans of relaxation and heavenly beaches.
And the thing is that Costa Mujeres is a truly undiscovered paradise, where its white-sand beaches and turquoise-coloured waters are the perfect complement to our new hotel. The Riu Palace Costa Mujeres will have 670 rooms, decorated in light, soft colours and perfectly equipped so that you will lack for nothing thanks to our 24-hour room service.
In terms of gastronomy, the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres will offer a wide range of restaurants where you can savour delicacies from different parts of the world. In addition to a main restaurant, which will have a buffet and show cooking, our new hotel in Mexico will have a restaurant serving Japanese specialities, another with the best Italian dishes, a Mexican-themed eatery, a restaurant with fusion cuisine and another one near one of the swimming pools. It will also have six bars, including the ‘Capuchino’ coffee shop with pastries, and a Jamaican-style barbecue station.
For the maximum comfort of our guests looking for rest and relaxation, the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres will provide six swimming pools of varying sizes where they can enjoy the warm and pleasant Mexican sunshine. A full-service spa for unwinding completely and a gym for staying in shape while on holiday are the other options available to the guests of this new hotel.

Unfortunately, the modular outer architecture of this Riu Palace Costa Mujeres, does not appeal to me at all. It’s too square-looking; too boring. I prefer the Riu Palace in Playa Del Carmen, that actually looks like a Palace. (Riu Palace Riviera Maya). The open bathrooms with a tub in the middle of the room, is also a huge turnoff for me.

We used to stay at RIU resorts all the time. We strayed away as other Resorts built. One of the biggest reasons was the dinner reservations you had to make. No one else did that! I hated having to stop what I was doing, relaxing at the pool or beach or whatever to go up to the lobby at 5 pm and stand in a long line to make a dinner reservation for the next night. Half the time there were no more reservations at several restaurants. This was unacceptable! I sure hope you have changed this to open seating walk in. We are considering trying you all out again because we loved RIU otherwise. Dinner reservations always ruined our mood and good time. Is this new resort going to be better on this?

Regarding your comment, you don’t have to make a reservation at our theme restaurants in RIU hotels in America: tables are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis depending on when people arrive at the restaurant.
