Three days in Torremolinos, beyond the beach
23 May, 2017Not long ago, we announced the opening of the new ClubHotel Riu Costa del Sol on the blog. In that post we showed you how this new beachfront resort looked after its major renovation. But today we want to tell you more about where it’s located: Torremolinos. If you think that all there is to do there is go to the beach, you’re very mistaken. Torremolinos is also nature, culture and gastronomy.
To prove it, we invited a group of Spanish journalists to show them all the possibilities this city offers. If you have a free weekend, Torremolinos is the perfect spot for a getaway. In three days you have time to enjoy the ClubHotel Riu Costa del Sol and everything else Torremolinos has to offer. Coming?
Day 1 Arrival in Torremolinos and cultural afternoon
Check-in starts at 3:00 p.m., and that’s when you can start taking advantage of the 24-hour All-Inclusive service. Until 3:30 p.m. you can enjoy lunch at the buffet and, after that time you can always get a bite to eat in one of the bars, which all serve snacks.
In the afternoon, you can take a stroll to see La Casa de las Navajas, one of the city’s most emblematic buildings. This lovely residential palace was built in 1925 and is currently hosting a photography exhibit on the recent history of Torremolinos.
Another interesting option is the Botanical Garden, where you can immerse yourself in nature just 20 minutes from the centre.
And what better way to top it all off than by having a platter of Andalusian fried fish, pescaíto frito, in La Carihuela, the former fishermen’s quarter, with its breezy views of the sea.
Day 2 Sierra de Torremolinos
After a busy day discovering the urban and cultural side, we suggest you spend the second day exploring nature in the Sierra de Torremolinos. Our group got to enjoy a complete tour guided by a forest ranger.
You can spend the rest of the day enjoying the facilities of the hotel. You can relax in the spa or in one of its three swimming pools, or choose one of the options proposed by the animation team.
Day 3 A tapas crawl through Torremolinos
There’s no better way to bid farewell to Torremolinos than by going out for tapas around the city. You have an infinite number of bars and restaurants where you can try authentic Andalusian cuisine.
Now we’ve told you about the ClubHotel Riu Costa del Sol and proposed an itinerary. What are you waiting for? Why not live the experience of Torremolinos in person? Go to RIU Hotels & Resorts and book your next getaway now.
