Discover the themed restaurants at RIU hotels!

We all know that one of the best parts of being on holiday is being able to enjoy good food without worrying about anything else.  At RIU we take that very seriously. One of the best things about staying at our hotels is the varied culinary offer that is available to you in the different themed restaurants. Today we want to tell you everything you need to know about the exclusive restaurants that you are going to find on your next holiday. Get ready for a gastronomic journey that will make your stomach rumble!

In all our hotels you’ll find the Main Buffet, our all-time classic. Here there is a little bit of everything and for all tastes, usually themed by areas, where you can find show cooking stations and food from various parts of the world in a single restaurant. In addition, many of the hotels also hold themed days, such as RIU’s event night and themed nights.

And who is in charge of creating and supervising the entire culinary offer at RIU hotels? A great team made up of five chefs at the head office, as well as four more based in Jamaica, the United States, Mexico and the Dominican Republic, all led by Ignacio Álvarez, the director of RIU’s Food department. Altogether, the Food division has a total of approximately 6,000 employees worldwide and is currently responsible for 321 restaurants with 25 different specialities, as well as 104 main restaurants. Hardly anything!

The preparation of the dishes, the menu, the presentation and all the details are designed in the kitchen at RIU’s headquarters. In fact, this kitchen is where the chefs put all their ideas into practice. We could say that it is where the magic of the most exquisite dishes is created. And to ensure that everything goes perfectly at each opening, Ignacio and some of his corporate chefs travel to supervise the launch.

Italian Restaurant:

Many people agree that the boot-shaped country’s food is unrivalled. We’ll let you decide that for yourself, although it is undeniable that the passion and love that Italians put into their cooking results in unique dishes. Riu Palace Kukulkan.

Whether it is pasta, pizza or risotto, this place offers you fresh dishes with ingredients approved by the “nonna”, or grandma. If you need a recommendation, you could start with a bruschetta, followed by a homemade lasagne and rounded off with a dreamy tiramisu. Mamma mia, let’s not forget the wine! Kulinarium Restaurant:

If you have ever been lucky enough to stay at a RIU hotel, you will know that the chain does not skimp on offering exceptional experiences to its guests. Krystal Restaurant:

For anyone looking to dine in an elegant atmosphere, this is one of the exclusive restaurants at our Riu Palace hotels. It features a culinary fusion style that combines techniques and ingredients from the best cuisines around the world, taking your palate into unexplored territories of new and exquisite sensations. And all served on exclusive tableware designed for RIU by the traditional Mallorcan glass factory Lafiore. No plate, under plate or tray is the same as they are all made by hand.

This restaurant is designed for lovers of American-style dishes. It is a new Sports Bar concept, characterised by its pool tables and the broadcasting of sporting events, and there is 24-hour table service – it’s amazing!  At the moment you can find one in the Riu Palace Pacifico and Riu Santa Fe, in Mexico, and the Riu Palace Aquarelle, in Jamaica.
