We recently returned from a vacation at the Riu Palace Pacifico. Overall, it was a family-fun filled vacation in a great location. However, we did find bed bugs in our room. Once alerted, management did act quickly to find us a new room. But it was clear to us that our bed linens were not being regularly cleaned to proper standards.

Our staff informed us that there were no records about similar cases before and after your stay from the guests who were allocated in the same room respectively used the same mattress.
We also consulted our Hygiene department. All our hotels fulfill the international hygienic norms. For example, the bed cloth and towels are washed and dried according to the correct temperature limits as set out by general hygiene instructions.
Washing conditions:
Bed cloth: 60 degrees Celsius
Towels:70-80 degrees Celsius
Drying conditions:
Bed cloth: 160-180 degrees Celsius
Towels:105-110 degrees Celsius

Happy 20th Birthday! Heading to Riu Vallarta in February. Looking forward to it. My husband and I have stayed at the Santa Fee in Los Cabo, and the Tiquila in Playa del Carmen. We talked 3 other couples to go with us this time. Can’t wait.
