The Riu La Mola becomes a Palace destination
In this post we want to let you in on some of the best-kept secrets of the renovation of our hotel in Formentera, at the foot of the idyllic Mitjorn beach. After a complete overhaul, the Riu La Mola is being upgraded from a four-star hotel to a four-star superior hotel and is joining the prestigious Riu Palace line, the chain’s top-of-the-line option.
What does this change involve? More and improved services for you! The renovation does not only involve fresh decor, it has also added an exclusive touch to the island style, with details reflecting the Mediterranean essence, creating a unique atmosphere.
What’s more, this project was spearheaded by Luis and Roberto Riu Rodríguez, the sons of Luis Riu and members of the fourth generation of the family. They were entrusted with all the decisions related to the hotel’s design, equipment and services.
New services and completely renovated spaces
The hotel still has 345 rooms, but they all have a new look that will leave you speechless. The new rooms will be more spacious and comfortable, with additional suites available for an even more exclusive experience.
But that’s not all! The common areas have also been given a complete facelift. The lobby is now bigger in terms of both space and height, creating a brighter, more spacious and relaxing environment, ideal for enjoying the utmost tranquillity of Formentera.
One of the areas that will really charm you is the chill-out terrace. Its relaxing style invites you to enjoy the spectacular sunsets. It is the perfect place to unwind, have a drink and enjoy the company of your loved ones.
And, of course, the range of cuisine on offer has also been expanded. The new Krystal à la carte restaurant joins the Ilios snack restaurant and the main buffet, which now has a larger terrace, ideal for enjoying al fresco meals while taking in the views.
