2024 has been full of great news from all over the world: new hotels, new destinations, technological innovations and major renovations. One of these, in Punta Cana, marked a real turning point for RIU in the Dominican Republic. We are talking about the complete remodelling of the Riu Palace Bavaro, a renovation that has allowed us to implement new products never before seen at RIU, add exclusive services and modernise all the spaces. But… why tell you about it if we can show you? This is what the Riu Palace Bavaro looked like before and after its renovation!
Bedrooms
The 994 rooms at the Riu Palace Bavaro now feature soft, muted colours, complemented by the use of wood in the furniture. The flooring has also been changed, with ceramic parquet now replacing the tiles.
Lobby
Your first impression when you arrive at the Riu Palace Bavaro is one of spaciousness and comfort. In addition, the use of light tones in both the furniture and the structure means this space makes the most of the natural light.
Restaurants
The complete renovation of the Riu Palace Bavaro has also allowed us to give the existing restaurants new decor and redistribute the spaces. As a result, the decor and design of the rest of the hotel is now reflected in the different restaurants.
Sports Bar
One of the favourite spots of Riu Palace Bavaro guests is the Sports Bar, and after the renovation, it is sure to be even more enticing. The change of furniture, decoration and layout of the spaces make the ‘new’ Sports Bar more sophisticated and spacious.
Gym
New equipment, softer shades and more subdued lighting are the main components of the gym at the Riu Palace Bavaro. It still makes the most of the natural light so that during your holidays you can continue to take care of yourself and exercise with RIU.
In addition to all the changes in the existing areas, the renovation of the Riu Palace Bavaro and the annexing of the former Riu Naiboa site have allowed us to introduce new products and services. These include an innovative Food Court, an area for families and friends with water games for the little ones, and the exclusive Elite Club by RIU service.
