The reopening of our hotels in Mauritius is getting closer! You already know that at RIU Hotels & Resorts we do everything in a big way. That is why, at the end of 2022, RIU's hotels in this dream destination were completely demolished to be rebuilt from scratch. In May of this year we will finally be able to see the result we have been waiting for for so long.
2023 was an "excellent" year for the RIU chain and for the tourism sector as a whole. Luis Riu, CEO of RIU Hotels & Resorts, reviews 2023 and presents the new hotel projects for 2024 in Mauritius, Jamaica and Chicago (USA), where the future Riu Plaza Chicago is due to open at the end of the year.
RIU Hotels & Resorts has been present in the Zanzibar archipelago since 2018 when the Riu Palace Zanzibar hotel opened. It currently has two hotels in the area, the Riu Jambo, which is aimed at families, and the Riu Palace Zanzibar, as an adults-only option. A total of 697 rooms in a paradise that brings together unforgettable landscapes and exceptional cultures.
2023 was full of new things for RIU Hotels & Resorts, and 2024 is sure to follow its example. Without a doubt, one of the most notable was the comprehensive refurbishment of the Riu Palace Pacifico, in Nayarit. The launch of the Elite Club service and the hotel's conversion into an Adults Only resort were accompanied by major changes in terms of design and decoration.
