Today we want to give you a taste of your dream holiday with RIU in this destination where, as well as enjoying the beautiful views, you can soak up its interesting culture.
Travelling to Guanacaste with RIU
In the northwest of the country, bathed by the warm waters of the Pacific, lies the region of Guanacaste. Here RIU has two hotels touching the incredible Matapalo beach: Riu Guanacaste and Riu Palace Costa Rica. Their location makes them the perfect choice for lovers of water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, diving and kayaking. But they have so many other great features too, we’ll tell you all about them!
– Riu Guanacaste
This impressive hotel offers 701 rooms fully equipped to guarantee you the best possible rest. Thanks to its 24h All Inclusive service you can enjoy the exquisite dishes offered by its five restaurants: the main restaurant “Liberia”, the Asian “Furama”, the Italian “La Toscana”, the pool restaurant “Ocotal” and the gourmet “Fucán”.
As you know, at RIU we love to see you enjoy yourself, so this hotel has daytime entertainment for both children and adults, and nightly shows that will add the finishing touch to a day in paradise.
– Riu Palace Costa Rica
This 5-star hotel is part of the sophisticated Riu Palace line, which will add an extra touch of luxury to your stay. It has 538 elegant and refined rooms that will leave you spellbound. And the best part? Both have exclusive views of the sea and will make your holiday unforgettable. In addition, guests at both hotels have access to the incredible Splash Water World where children and adults can have unlimited fun on the water slides.
Wildlife Refuge in Costa Rica
The hotels are set in unmatched natural surroundings and, as well as having the sea at their feet, they are next to the Private National Wildlife Refuge. This is a 200-hectare protected natural area of enormous environmental, economic and social value. The area acts as a biological corridor for migratory species and has diverse flora and fauna. This refuge is home to:
– 130 plant species
– 80 bird species (resident and migratory)
– 30 mammal species
– 10 reptile species
The refuge is located on land owned by the RIU chain, which is in charge of its maintenance.
What can you do in Guanacaste?
If you want to feed your adventurous side during your days off, there are plenty of options! You could take a trip to places like the Rincón de la Vieja National Park or the Santa Rosa National Park. For the more adventurous we recommend a visit to the inland areas of Guanacaste to meet the “sabaneros” (the local cowboys) riding their horses. A truly spectacular show in the middle of nature and one of those magical experiences that we are sure you will cherish forever.
Before leaving, you must visit Liberia, the capital of Guanacaste. There you will discover incredible spots where the culture of the country is reflected through its people and its adobe and wooden buildings with white facades and red tile roofs, as well as colonial constructions…
Don’t think twice! Come and discover this incredible landscape that will transport you to the African savannah. And don’t worry because it’s the ideal destination to visit at any time of the year thanks to its consistently warm weather. Now, for example, is the ideal time!
