Tour the city by bicycle
Berlin has a public bicycle rental service and miles and miles of bike lanes. The German capital has a lot to offer. Exploring the city on two wheels will allow you to make the best use of your time.
2. Take a boat ride on the Spree river
Another way to see Berlin from a different perspective is by taking a boat ride on the Spree river. The city’s public transportation network offers several routes, and you’re in luck because in spring and summer they operate from Monday to Sunday. Some boats even have a bar. Have a drink while you enjoy the marvellous views.
3. Have a picnic in one of its numerous parks
Why not take advantage of the good weather to order a Currywurst and enjoy the fresh air? Berlin has an infinite number of parks where you can spend the afternoon right in the city centre. Mauerpark is known among young people for its flea market and its famous karaoke. Perfect to spend a different kind of Sunday afternoon.
4. Admire its street art murals
In Berlin the streets of the city are like an art gallery. Graffiti is part of the urban culture. The murals of the East Side Gallery are unquestionably the most famous, but they are by no means the only ones. The neighbourhoods of Kreuzberg and Friedrichsain are also known for their street art.
5. Have a beer in a Biergarten
There’s nothing more German than beer. And the most inviting time to have an ice-cold one is summer. The traditional Biergartens are places where you can have a beer and try typical German dishes.
