A comprehensive offer that will make a big impression on you. But we know that holidays are not endless, so we have made a small selection of things you could do if you travel to Sri Lanka.
.Enjoy its beaches. Without a doubt, Sri Lanka’s greatest attractions include the beautiful beaches that surround the island. Here you can sunbathe surrounded by wild, natural scenery or enjoy water sports like surfing. You can even go whale and dolphin watching.
.Visit Colombo, the country’s commercial capital. Although it is not one of the main tourist hubs, it is worth stopping off in this chaotic city and visiting the National Museum of Colombo, where you can learn all about the history of Sri Lanka. You can also check out the Gangaramaya Temple, the Petta district, or relax in one of the beautiful parks.
.The old colonial city of Galle. This is a popular stop for tourists travelling to Sri Lanka. Its streets are steeped in history. We recommend that you wander through them and discover attractions like the fort walls, from where you can enjoy the views of the city, its colonial buildings, the Groote Kerk church, the clock tower, the lighthouse and the historic centre.
.The holy city of Kandy. Here you will find stunning natural scenery and a lot of history. You can visit the Temple of the Tooth, Bogambara Lake (in the centre of the city), the tea museum where you can learn about the tea-making process, and see a giant statue of Buddha on a mountainside.
.Ella. This is a small village in the middle of the mountains surrounded by tea plantations. The spot is a natural wonderland, making it the perfect place to go trekking and discover Sri Lanka’s beautiful wilderness. Here you can enjoy a tranquil environment and breathe in the clean, fresh air. Of course, you cannot leave this village without visiting Nine Arch Bridge viaduct, also known as the “Bridge in the Sky” where the train that connects Kandy with Ella runs, a very popular route among travellers because of the breathtaking views it offers.
.The Dambulla Caves or Golden Temple. This World Heritage Site is located in the centre of the island. You should not leave Sri Lanka without visiting these five Buddhist caves located in the heart of the mountains.
.Go on a safari. If you’re an adventurer, this island is the ideal place to go on an incredible safari. There are several places where you can enjoy this experience, including Minneriya National Park, Hurulu Forest Reserve and Kaudulla National Park.
