The 14th of July 2024 will forever remain in the memory of Spanish sport, as it is the magical day on which the Spanish national football team was proclaimed European champion for the fourth time in its history. At RIU we are still really excited by all this year's big news. 2024 has brought us a great deal of joy thanks to the important openings and refurbishments that have taken place since the beginning of the year. Now it is the turn of the Riu Plaza Chicago hotel which opened its doors this July and is now fully operational. This hotel is very special for us because it is our first in the windy city and the fifth in the Riu Plaza range in the United States. We are very proud of the result. The newly built, 28-storey hotel enjoys a prime location at 150E Ontario Street, in the famous Magnificent Mile shopping area. One of the hallmarks of our hotels is undoubtedly the service that each and every one of our employees provide to our guests. From the receptionist who welcomes you on your arrival at the hotel to the waiter who serves you your favorite drink during your stay with us. They all share a common feature: kindness and a smile when it comes to providing their services. Nevertheless, some employees, due to their responsibilities, have no direct contact with our guests. They are the ones who carry out the 'silent' but essential work required for the proper functioning of the hotels. But the story we are sharing with you today shatters the norm of these silent collaborators. This is Jorge Martinez, Cost Controller at the Riu Cancun hotel during the day, and a singer in the hotel shows at night.
