Detail & Description
Exotic, modern and traditional: the perfect definition of Dubai. Along its streets, you will find neighbourhoods that transmit the place's essence, unique scenery that will surprise you, and some of the world's most impressive buildings. Its characteristic contrasts are the result of the growth it has experienced in recent years. For good reason it is considered the city that has grown most in the world in the last decade.
During your trip to this exclusive destination, you can stay at Hotel Riu Dubai to enjoy an all-inclusive holiday. Among its facilities, you will find maximum comfort and an endless range of leisure options to make your stay a unique experience.
The contrasts of Dubai
If one thing stands out in Dubai, it is the huge differences between the buildings in the old neighbourhoods and the most modern areas. We recommend you start by exploring Deira, the city's historic quarter, located very close to Hotel Riu Dubai. This is where the first Arabic and Indian families settled, and the city began to grow from there. You mustn't miss out on visiting the souks and the Dubai Museum, where you can learn about Dubai's history. What's more, this is very close to Al Seef, a newly-built cultural district that recreates the style of houses and neighbourhoods in Dubai from 100 years ago. Take a walk through its streets and enjoy a journey back in time.
To see the divide between the old city and the new, there is nothing better than visiting Dubai Frame, a skyscraper shaped like a picture frame that offers 360° views of the city. You could take this opportunity to visit the small museum inside and find out more about Dubai's past and future. When you have observed the significant differences between the districts from a great height, we suggest you visit Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, which has become the emblem of Dubai, and go up to the viewing platform on floor 125. It is just next to the Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping centre. It is well worth going to see the water show in the mall's fountain, considered one of the most beautiful in the world.
Another part of Dubai that will surprise you is the marina and the JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residence). These are the city's main tourist areas and in them you can enjoy various attractions such as the seafront promenade that measures more than 7 km, the beaches and the Cayan Tower, with its peculiar spiral shape. What's more, from the JBR you can get to the artificial island of Bluewaters, connected by a boardwalk, and see the world's largest Ferris wheel. The most adventurous travellers, however, are sure to prefer the most thrilling leisure options, such as doing a parachute jump with the Palm Jumeirah beneath you or throw yourself down a zip line from several places.
Palm Jumeirah:
This is one of the world's biggest artificial islands. Its curious palm tree shape makes it unique and is one of the reasons why it is one of Dubai's major tourist attractions.
Madinat Jumeirah:
This "city" within Dubai is interesting because of its mix of tradition and luxury. We recommend that you explore its canals on a traditional boat and visit Madinat souk.
Dubai Desert:
Make the most of your stay in Dubai by going on an excursion to the desert that you will never forget. Discover the dune landscapes, try sandboarding or enjoy a desert camp dinner.
